Terms of Use
Last updated: March 28, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ScienceKid.org ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
ScienceKid is an educational platform that provides:
- STEM Challenges: Interactive math, science, engineering, and coding challenges
- Learning Tracks: Structured learning pathways with levels and missions
- Progress Tracking: XP points, streaks, badges, and achievement systems
- Leaderboards: Friendly competition and motivation
- Educational Content: Age-appropriate STEM learning materials
- Classrooms (for eligible users): Virtual classes with join codes, teacher rosters and approvals, assignment of adventure tracks, optional due dates and required flags, and teacher-facing progress views
3. Classrooms, Teacher Accounts, and School Use
Certain features let educators create virtual classrooms, share a class code, approve or reject join requests, assign learning tracks, and review aggregated and per-student progress. The following applies in addition to the rest of these Terms.
Eligibility and teacher responsibilities
- Authorized use: If you use classroom features, you represent that you are using the Service in a legitimate educational capacity (for example, as a teacher or other role your school permits) and that your use complies with your employer’s or institution’s policies.
- Accurate information: You agree to provide accurate school profile information where required to access classroom tools and to keep class descriptions and settings reasonably accurate.
- Student participation: You are responsible for ensuring that students who join your class are appropriately authorized to use ScienceKid (including any parental consent or school consent required under applicable law or policy). The Service provides technical tools only; compliance with child-protection, education-privacy, and local rules remains your responsibility together with guardians and institutions as applicable.
- Roster and codes: Class join codes should be treated like credentials: share them only with people you intend to enroll. You are responsible for approvals and for removing or archiving classes when no longer appropriate.
- No substitute for professional judgment: Progress metrics, badges, and dashboards are informational. They do not replace formal grading systems, individualized education decisions, or professional assessment required by your school or jurisdiction.
Students in classrooms
- Students typically join using a code provided by a teacher. By joining, students acknowledge that the teacher and (where applicable) the school may see certain activity related to assigned tracks and class participation as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Teacher accounts are not intended to use “join class” flows as if they were students; feature availability may differ by role.
Teacher-created tracks and content
- Tracks or other materials you create must comply with these Terms (including intellectual property and acceptable use). Publishing a track may make it assignable by other educators on the platform as described in the product; you should not publish content you do not have the right to share.
Administrative access
- Platform operators may access information as needed to operate, secure, and support the Service (for example, troubleshooting classroom or account issues), consistent with our Privacy Policy.
4. User Accounts
